Telematic Info Connection Centre
CCIT (Telematic Info Connection
Centre) is the tool through which MoBas
can connect and interact with users and suppliers of
traditional and innovative services.
It can regarded as a service “generator” that attaches
value-added contents and transmits them to users thanks
to various technologies in an automatic and automated
manner.
The Telematic Info Connection Centre developed and established
at Enteos can directly provide services to customers.
Moreover, it can be easily reproduced and upgraded in
case of need, so that it can be installed and made operational
on equipment and networks directly managed by customers.
Any CCIT physically comprises
one or more servers connected between them and:
- to the GPRS network of a phone service provider/partner,
directly or via Internet, to talk to mobile or fixed
terminals that communicate via GPRS;
- to any intranet to manage fleets of mobile terminals
and collected data;
- to the Internet (where required) to be accessed by
the public as well.
The relevant software application
includes three modules:
1. A communications and
follow-up module to talk to mobile or fixed terminals
via GPRS; it stores collected data in a database and
extracts queued commands to send them. This module is
available for Unix environment, was tested on Sun Solaris
and Linux, and can be exported to Windows.
2. A database, which can
be expanded according to corporate needs and supplemented
with databases belonging to customers. It can use any
corporate database server since it is compatible with:
Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Access, Oracle, DB2,
SyBase, Informix, AdabasD, Postgres, MySQL, Yard, InterBase,
Firebird, Linter, Ovrimos, Mimer, Ingres, SAP DB, Solid.
3. A web server dedicated
to corporate intranet with dynamic and interactive pages
to enter data and to query the database.
The three modules can reside on the same server or on
three different servers; an additional web server intended
for the public can contain dynamic pages for queries
only, after checking authorisations. The whole system
is highly upgradeable, can be installed in a demo version
on a simple PC and does not require any investment in
software applications: it was tested and can be fully
designed with open source software application (Linux
operating system, MySQL database, Apache web server).
